Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Responsibilities
- Prepare, examine, and analyse financial statements using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar programmes.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for management review.
- Reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data across multiple platforms.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures in compliance with organisational policies.
- Mentor junior staff members on best practices in financial management and accounting procedures.
- Ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations and internal controls.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in financial services or similar roles with a strong background in financial accounting.
- Proficiency in various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or equivalent platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in accounts payable processes and overall financial management.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members is desirable.
- Relevant qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent are preferred but not essential.
