Overview:
Minterne House is a historic and exclusive-use wedding and events venue in the heart of Dorset. We are seeking a highly organised, personable, and proactive Wedding & Events Manager to join our in-house team. This is a varied and rewarding role suited to someone who enjoys both client interaction and behind-the-scenes organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Client Management
- Respond to wedding and event enquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Arrange and conduct venue viewings, offering a warm and informative experience
- Follow up with enquiries and manage the booking process through to confirmation
- Maintain regular communication with booked clients and support them throughout their planning
- Organise and attend client planning meetings as required
- Manage weddings from beginning to end
- Manage a small team
Weddings & Events
- Oversee weddings and events on the day
- Assist in preparing spaces and liaising with external coordinators and suppliers
Administration & Coordination
- Keep accurate records of enquiries, bookings, payments, and client communication
- Issue contracts, booking forms, and ensure receipt of key documentation (e.g. insurance certificates)
- Maintain internal planning checklists and timelines
- Accurate reporting of profit and loss in conjunction with the Estate Manager
Marketing & Promotion
- Contribute to updating marketing materials, including the venue brochure
- Assist with website content updates (availability, blog posts, image galleries)
- Support promotional campaigns, styled shoots, and collaborations
- Arrange and manage wedding showcases
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience in weddings and events essential
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Confident with digital tools (Microsoft Office, Canva, Instagram, etc.)
- Creative flair and attention to detail
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Dorset-based wedding suppliers
