Job Overview
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and hardworking General Assistant to join our retail team.
As a General Assistant, you will play an important role in ensuring the store is clean, well-stocked, welcoming and ready for our customers. You will work as part of a team to deliver excellent customer service and maintain high standards across the store.
No two days are the same, and this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy, fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and professional customer service at all times.
- Serve customers efficiently and positively.
- Operate the checkout and handle cash and card transactions accurately.
- Replenish stock and ensure shelves are fully stocked and presented to a high standard.
- Check product dates and rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out).
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene throughout the store.
- Assist with deliveries, checking stock and storing products correctly.
- Ensure promotional displays and offers are correctly presented.
- Help maintain high standards of food safety and health & safety.
- Support colleagues across different areas of the store when required.
- Deal with customer queries in a polite and helpful manner.
- Follow company policies, procedures and store standards.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the Store Manager or Supervisor.
