Occupational Health Nurse – 3 to 5 Days per Week

About the opportunity
NPH Group is a growing occupational health provider with a friendly and experienced clinical team. We are looking for an Occupational Health Nurse to join us in a varied role combining health surveillance, employment medicals and absence-management consultations.
The role is available from a minimum of three days per week up to full-time. Working days will be agreed with the successful candidate.

You will work from our Newcastle base and at client sites across the North East.
What you will be doing
You will:
- Deliver health surveillance, including audiometry, spirometry, skin assessments and HAVS assessments
- Undertake employment and safety-critical medical assessments
- Conduct absence-management consultations by telephone, video and face to face
- Produce clear, balanced and timely reports for managers and clients
- Triage referrals and support the planning of occupational health clinics
- Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with professional and NPH Group standards
- Provide clinical support to Occupational Health Technicians
- Contribute to clinical audit, service quality and continuous improvement
Depending on your training and experience, the role may also include vaccinations, venepuncture, drug and alcohol testing, health-promotion activities and Tier 3 HAVS assessments.
About you
You will need:
- To be a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
- Occupational health experience—ideally at least two years, although we will consider candidates with a minimum of 12 months’ strong relevant experience
- Experience of delivering health surveillance independently
- Experience of absence management, case management or management referrals
- The ability to produce clear and concise occupational health reports
- Strong communication, organisation and IT skills
- The confidence to work both independently and as part of a wider team
- A full driving licence, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel to client sites
It would be helpful, but is not essential, if you have:
- A recognised occupational health diploma or degree, or are currently working towards one
- HAVS training
- Experience of safety-critical medicals
- Experience of telephone and video consultations
- Vaccination, venepuncture or drug and alcohol testing experience
