Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust (LGT) are recruiting a registered professional to join the existing Pre-registration Education Team as a Band 6 Clinical Practice Facilitator. The successful candidate Thurswill be based on the Queen Elizabeth site, with the expectation of cross site working as required.
The primary focus will be to support Adult field pre-registration learners and the areas / staff that are facilitating their practice placement experience. Providing cross cover support as appropriate, within the Pre-registration Education Team. You will work closely with the UHL counter-part and Band 7 lead, in order to:
- Identify placement capacity
- Map placements
- Facilitate Practice Supervisor / Assessor training
- Arrange and facilitate Learner Inductions, Student Forums and Student Teaching sessions
- Share and embed NMC Standards for Education
The Clinical Practice Facilitator (CPF) will be an expert in all matters relating to pre and post registration programmes leading to NMC registration. This post provides a great opportunity to develop clinical leadership skills, knowledge and experience of pre-registration education in action; leading to an understanding of how the NMCs Standards are applied within training programmes both within universities and clinical settings.
The Pre-registration Education team are responsible for:
Maintaining a high visibility within clinical practice settings
Supporting learners and their practice supervisors / assessors
Ensuring clinical learning environments support the acquisition of required knowledge and skills partnership working with local HEIs

The successful candidate will be a highly visible role model for clinical education, an expert practitioner and change agent. They will promote quality learning environments in all areas of our services providing practical, clinical training and support to learners and their practice supervisors / assessors.
Partnership working is important in this post and the successful candidate will work closely with local Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) and Partner Organisations. You will be responsible for sustaining these relationships to support the learner journey and facilitate the required experience(s) for them to successfully complete their programme and register with the NMC. You are the bridge from practice back to theory through: supporting the facilitation of skills sessions and interviews at the HEIs; representing the Trust at meetings; advertising how colleagues can become involved with HEI activities and regularly liaising with the link lecturers.
The successful applicant will join the wider Education Team within the Trust and be supported by fellow Clinical Practice Facilitators across Midwifery and Nursing, and the Pre-registration Education Lead.
Once in post you will be supported through in-house training and offered professional development to enable you to facilitate change, to implement innovations and improvements for Learners, service users, their families / carers and staff.
