Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and welcoming Hotel Receptionist to join our team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process. This role requires excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanour, and the ability to handle guest inquiries efficiently. Experience in hospitality is preferred, but a positive attitude and strong organisational skills are essential.
Duties
- Greet guests upon arrival with warmth and professionalism, ensuring a positive first impression
- Manage guest check-in and check-out procedures accurately and efficiently
- Handle guest requests, enquiries, and complaints with courtesy and promptness
- Maintain reservation records and update guest information using hotel management systems
- Answer phone calls following proper etiquette, providing information about hotel services and local attractions
- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest rooms are prepared to high standards
- Process payments securely and issue receipts or invoices as required
- Provide information about hotel amenities, services, and local area attractions to enhance guest experience
- Maintain the reception area in a tidy and organised manner at all times
Skills
- Excellent phone etiquette with clear, professional communication skills
- Previous experience in hotel reception or guest services is advantageous but not mandatory for motivated candidates
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in handling reservations and guest information
- Friendly, approachable demeanour with a genuine commitment to hospitality excellence
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve guest issues diplomatically
- Good computer literacy, including familiarity with hotel management software is preferred
