Watermill Coaches is one of the largest independent coach operators in North East Scotland, operating a modern fleet of buses and coaches from our purpose-built workshop in Ellon.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a motivated and reliable Workshop Assistant / Trainee Technician to join our busy workshop team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with vehicles, wants to learn new skills and is looking for a long-term career within the commercial vehicle industry.
What You'll Be Doing
Working alongside our experienced technicians, your duties will include:
- Assisting HGV technicians with vehicle servicing and repairs.
- Carrying out vehicle cleaning and preparation.
- Performing basic maintenance tasks such as changing bulbs, wiper blades and batteries.
- Assisting with tyre inspections.
- Collecting vehicle parts and workshop supplies.
- Keeping the workshop clean, tidy and organised.
- Learning how to inspect, service and repair buses and coaches.
- Supporting the team with day-to-day workshop operations.
Full training will be provided, with the opportunity to progress onto a recognised Technician apprenticeship for the right candidate.
What We're Looking For
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Good timekeeping and reliability.
- An interest in mechanics or vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- A full UK driving licence is preferred (or close to obtaining one) due to our rural location.
- Previous workshop experience is beneficial but not essential.
