About the role
We’re recruiting Team Leaders to join our new residential services opening later this year in Derby City Centre.
These services will support young adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs. As Team Leader, you’ll work closely with the Deputy Manager and Service Manager to ensure the service runs smoothly, safely, and in line with our high standards.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll lead shifts, support the team on the floor, and ensure the people we support are at the heart of everything we do.
Your role
In this role, you’ll:
- Lead and coordinate shifts, ensuring safe staffing levels and effective support delivery
- Act as a positive role model, promoting a person-centred and inclusive culture
- Support the implementation of care plans and positive behaviour support strategies
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and informal supervision to Support Workers
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and high-quality documentation
- Promote independence, life skills, and meaningful outcomes for the young adults we support
- Support with medication management, risk assessments, and health & safety compliance
- Contribute to continuous improvement, helping the service meet and exceed CQC Fundamental Standards
- Build positive relationships with families and external professionals
You’ll be supported by an experienced management team and have access to ongoing training to help you grow in your leadership journey.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is motivated, compassionate, and ready to lead from the front.
You’ll bring:
- Experience supporting young adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs
- Experience in a residential care setting, ideally with some senior or shift-leading responsibilities
- A good understanding of CQC regulations and quality standards
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to lead a team
- Knowledge of positive behaviour support and person-centred planning
- The ability to stay calm, organised, and solution-focused
- A Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
- Flexibility to meet the needs of the service, including shift work
