Senior Photocopier & IT Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and customer-focused Senior Managed Print & Technical Services Engineer to join our growing technical team.
This is primarily a field-based role (Van provided) , responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and support of multi-functional devices (MFDs), with a particular emphasis on Ricoh equipment, including production print devices.
Alongside managed print responsibilities, you will also provide basic technical support and across our wider IT services where required, including customer infrastructure, networking, Microsoft 365, and endpoint technologies. You will work closely with our IT Support Team, print engineering team, helpdesk, sales, and administration teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
You will regularly attend customer sites throughout the region while also providing office-based support from our Swindon headquarters when required.
A Day in the Life
Your responsibilities will include:
Managed Print
- Install, configure and commission Ricoh multifunction devices and production print equipment.
- Diagnose, repair and maintain Ricoh photocopiers and printers to manufacturer standards.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
- Respond to customer service requests within agreed SLA times.
- Perform firmware upgrades and software updates.
- Configure print drivers, scanning (SMB, SMTP, FTP), user authentication and network connectivity.
- Support production print environments where required.
- Maintain accurate service records and complete technical documentation.
- Ensure van stock, spare parts, tools and equipment are maintained.
- Identify recurring faults and contribute to continuous service improvements.
- Provide remote support to customers where appropriate.
- Attend manufacturer training and maintain relevant certifications.
Technical Support
- Provide high-quality 1st line technical support when required.
- Assist with customer infrastructure projects and technical implementations.
- Support Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint and Teams environments.
- Assist with customer onboarding, migrations and technology upgrades.
- Provide technical guidance and training to customers and colleagues.

Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Photocopier/Managed Print Engineer.
- Strong experience supporting Ricoh MFDs (preferred).
- Familiarity with Ricoh Smart Operation Panel and associated software.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Print drivers
- Scanning (SMB, SMTP, FTP)
- User authentication
- Firmware management
- Print networking
- Experience supporting production print equipment is highly desirable.
- Experience working within an MSP/MPS or customer-facing technical environment.
- Good understanding of Microsoft 365 and Windows environments.
- Working knowledge of networking including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs and VPNs.
- Experience supporting Windows 10/11, Mac OS and basic Windows Server environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot software, hardware and network-related issues.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Experience
- Ricoh Technical Certifications / Ricoh Academy qualifications.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.

Pay: £33,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
