Location: UK-based
Reports to: Petya Topalova
Scope: Whole group — UK operations plus a German subsidiary/branch
Priority: Urgent hire
Salary: Competitive, reflecting multinational/cross-border experience
Role Purpose
We are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to run the group's finance function, covering both the UK business and a German subsidiary/branch. The role requires someone comfortable managing day-to-day UK finance while coordinating the German entity's reporting and compliance alongside a local Steuerberater (German tax advisor) — this is not a German tax specialist role, but requires genuine prior experience working across a UK/German (or similarly structured multinational) group.
Key Responsibilities
- Own monthly management accounts and reporting for the group, consolidating UK and German entity results
- Manage the annual budgeting process and rolling cash flow forecasts across both entities
- Act as the main internal point of contact for the German subsidiary's Steuerberater and any other local advisors, ensuring timely and accurate information flows both ways
- Oversee statutory and tax compliance across jurisdictions, working with local advisors on filings, payroll obligations, and any transfer pricing or intercompany matters
- Manage the month-end and year-end close process, including intercompany reconciliations
- Support the Finance Director/owner with financial input on business decisions, including any group restructuring or acquisition-related work
- Manage and develop the wider finance/accounts team
- Liaise with external auditors and accountants in both the UK and Germany
- Identify and implement improvements to group finance processes and systems
Essential Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven in-house experience with a UK/international group that has a German subsidiary or branch
- Track record of working effectively alongside a Steuerberater or equivalent local tax advisor, without needing to be a German tax expert personally
- Strong management accounting, budgeting and cash flow experience
- Comfortable operating as the senior finance person day-to-day in a smaller/mid-sized group structure
Desirable
- Experience with intercompany transactions, consolidations, or group restructuring
- German language skills (useful but not essential, given the Steuerberater relationship)
- Experience supporting an acquisition, disposal, or other corporate transaction
Pay: £45,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
