Job Overview
RWC Education Ltd are seeking reliable and motivated tutors to join our expanding team. We are one of the largest tutoring agencies in Essex, delivering over 20,000 lessons last year alone.
We work closely with multiple local councils as trusted education providers, reinforcing our strong reputation for quality, professionalism, and safeguarding.
Due to continued high demand, many of our tutors are now fully booked. We are therefore looking to expand our team, with limited tutor positions available.
Subjects Required
We are recruiting tutors who can teach one or more of the following:
- Maths (SATS / GCSE)
- English (SATS / GCSE)
- Science (SATS / GCSE)
You are not required to teach all subjects.
Location & Delivery
This role is for face-to-face tutoring. Applicants must be able to offer tuition in this area:
- Rayleigh and/or surrounding areas
- Benfleet
- Basildon
- Billericay
Tutoring may take place:
- In students’ homes, or
- From your own home (where suitable)
Employment Status
- Tutors work on a self-employed basis
- You retain full control over your availability, workload, and hourly rate
Tutor Requirements
- Enhanced DBS certificate (mandatory – no exceptions)
- Ability to cover at least one listed location
- Strong communication skills and prompt responsiveness
- Reliable, professional, and organised
- Must be able to drive if offering tuition at students home
Experience:
- Experienced tutors are encouraged to apply
- A-Level students, university students, and those new to tutoring are welcome
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is preferred but not essential — we are happy to speak with candidates beginning their tutoring journey

Pay
- Tutors typically charge between £15–£40 per hour, depending on experience
- You choose your own rate of pay

We work with tutors ranging from A-Level students to exam moderators. As not all families can afford higher rates, we believe in offering both affordable and premium tutoring options.
