We are seeking an experienced, ambitious and hands-on General Manager to lead the team and oversee the day-to-day operations of our well-established traditional East London pub.
We're looking for someone who thrives in a community-focused environment and understands what makes a great local pub. The successful candidate will be passionate about hospitality, customer service and team leadership, with the ability to build strong relationships with regulars while attracting new customers and driving the business forward.
We're looking for a commercially minded General Manager who is confident in running the pub as if it were their own, with the expectation of transitioning to a percentage of the pub's takings after successfully settling into the role. Full details will be discussed during the interview process.
Working closely with the Area Manager, you'll have the autonomy to shape the business, develop your team, grow sales and continue building the pub's reputation as a true East London local. This is an excellent opportunity for an entrepreneurial operator looking for more than a standard salaried management position.
Responsibilities

- Drive sales, profitability and business performance through strong leadership and commercial awareness.
- Organise and support events, live sport and local initiatives that encourage repeat business.
- Handle customer feedback professionally and resolve issues effectively.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and operational organisation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a General Manager or senior manager within pubs, bars or hospitality.
- A strong leader who can inspire, motivate and develop a successful team.
- Commercially minded with a genuine passion for growing sales and profitability.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong understanding of stock control, labour management and financial performance.
- Confident managing busy service periods while maintaining exceptional standards.
- Hands-on approach with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of licensing laws, food safety and health & safety requirements.
- Personal Licence Holder (preferred).
- Ambitious, driven and looking for a long-term opportunity with genuine progression.
If you're an experienced operator looking to run a traditional East London pub and are excited by the opportunity to grow into a performance-based role with greater earning potential, we'd love to hear from you.
