Pay: £12.76 per hour, rising to £13.31 per hour ( on successful completion of probation & training) £24,882 pa FTE

Watford Mencap is a local charity supporting over 800 people with learning disabilities and their families across South West Hertfordshire. We’re passionate about inclusion, independence and creating opportunities for everyone to thrive.
We’re currently looking for Support Workers to join our services.
About the Role
This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll plan and deliver support to enable our clients to be more independent and to motivate them to do new things.
You will be helping clients at home and when out and about, working in a team and with families, and partner organisations to ensure that support is person-centred, safe and of a high standard.
We have opportunities in residential services and supported living services in SW Herts, in our Skills Development Team and in our Community Hub in Watford. and includes evening and weekend work.
What You’ll Be Doing
· Supporting with daily living tasks: preparing meals, housekeeping and personal care.
· Supporting in the local community: going to the shops and to clubs, or attending medical appointments.
· Encouraging our clients to stay fit and well
· Building positive relationships with clients, families and professionals
· Providing person-centred support
· Maintaining accurate records and managing risk responsibly
