Receptionist/Administrator – Quay Lane Surgery, Old Quay Lane, St. Germans, East Cornwall
Quay Lane Surgery is committed to providing the highest standard of patient care, placing our patients and local community at the heart of everything we do. Situated in the heart of East Cornwall, approximately 20 minutes from the Tamar Bridge, we are a friendly and supportive practice looking to welcome a new member to our team.
We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic and motivated Receptionist/Administrator to work 34hours 08.30-18.00 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in delivering an excellent patient experience. You will need outstanding communication and customer service skills, together with a warm, professional and empathetic approach. This is a busy and rewarding patient-facing role, requiring the ability to work calmly under pressure, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
Working as part of a strong and supportive team, your responsibilities will include reception duties, administration tasks, patient enquiries and telephone work. You will be required to work at both our main and branch surgeries on a rotational basis, sometimes independently and sometimes as part of the wider team.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent communication skills, both face-to-face and on the telephone.
- Is customer-focused, professional and compassionate.
- Is computer literate and able to learn new systems quickly.
- Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Can maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
- Is flexible and willing to provide cover for colleagues during holidays and sickness absence, occasionally at short notice.
- Has access to their own transport due to our rural location and the requirement to travel to our branch surgery.
Previous experience working in a GP practice is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided to the right candidate.
