Lane House Care Home (DY3 4AE) - Deputy Care Manager / Team Leader
£15.10 per hour | 36 Hours per Week
Lane House Care Home is looking for an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Deputy Care Manager / Team Leader to join our dedicated team.
Lane House is a warm and welcoming care home registered for 33 residents, situated within a beautiful Georgian property. The home is owned and operated by Northgate Healthcare Limited, a family-run care provider that has been delivering high-quality care since 2006. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional standards of care and leading by example. Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will help oversee the day-to-day operation of the home while ensuring residents receive the highest quality care and support.
Hours
- 36 hours per week
- 7:00am – 4:00pm (9-hour shifts) - open for discussion
- A combination of office-based management duties and hands-on floor-based responsibilities
About the Role
This is a leadership role that requires someone who is prepared to lead from the front. The successful candidate will spend time undertaking management responsibilities whilst also working alongside the team on the floor to ensure the home continues to operate to the highest standards.
When working on the floor, you will be expected to undertake and support all aspects of daily operations, including:
- Personal care and senior care duties
- Supporting residents with daily living activities
- Supervising and mentoring care staff
- Dining room support and mealtime assistance
- Domestic and housekeeping duties
- Laundry duties
- Ensuring excellent standards of cleanliness, presentation, and resident care throughout the home
By remaining actively involved in all areas of the service, you will be able to monitor standards, support the team, and ensure our residents receive outstanding care every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home
- Lead and support the care team to deliver outstanding person-centred care
- Complete care documentation, audits, and administrative tasks as required
- Support staff supervision, training, and development
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in the on-call rota on alternate weeks, shared with the Registered Manager
- Respond effectively to operational issues and emergencies
- Be flexible and available to cover vacant shifts on both days and nights when required (with hours offset accordingly)
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience as a Senior Carer, Team Leader, Deputy Manager, or similar role within a care home setting
- Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Be confident in leading shifts and supporting staff development
- Be willing to work alongside the team and undertake all aspects of care home operations
- Have a genuine passion for providing exceptional care to older people
- Be flexible, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards
