Job Overview
Britton and Time Solicitors is seeking a highly organised, proactive and motivated PR, Media and Events Coordinator to join our team at our Mayfair office.
This is a varied, fast-moving and highly administrative role supporting the promotion of the firm, our solicitors and their areas of expertise.
You will help build and maintain relationships with journalists, television producers, researchers and other media professionals. A key part of the role will be identifying relevant news stories and securing opportunities for our solicitors to appear on television, contribute expert commentary and be featured in newspaper and online articles.
You will also coordinate the firm’s events and support its social media activity. The position would suit someone with previous PR or media-relations experience who is highly organised, responsive and comfortable managing several projects and deadlines at the same time.
Key responsibilities
Media and public relations
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, television producers, researchers and other media contacts.
- Monitor breaking news, current affairs and developing stories relevant to the firm’s practice areas.
- Identify opportunities for the firm’s solicitors to provide expert commentary.
- Pitch solicitors and other appropriate representatives for television appearances, interviews, newspaper features and online articles.
- Respond promptly and professionally to requests from journalists and media organisations.
- Coordinate interviews, media appearances and associated diary arrangements.
- Prepare solicitors for appearances by providing relevant information, timings and briefing materials.
- Maintain accurate media contact lists and detailed records of opportunities, appearances and coverage.
- Follow up media approaches and ensure opportunities are progressed promptly.
Social media and digital content
- Support individual solicitors with their professional social media activity.
- Help maintain a consistent and effective content schedule.
- Draft, schedule and publish content across the firm’s social media platforms.
- Publish articles and other content on the firm’s digital platforms.
- Identify opportunities to repurpose media appearances, events and legal commentary into engaging online content.
- Maintain a professional and consistent tone across the firm’s communications.
Events
- Assist with the planning, promotion and delivery of the firm’s professional and networking events.
- Liaise with venues, suppliers, speakers, guests and attendees.
- Promote events and assist with ticket sales.
- Manage invitations, bookings, attendee lists and event communications.
- Provide administrative support before, during and after events.
- Help ensure that events are delivered professionally and run smoothly.
Essential skills and experience
- Previous experience in public relations, media relations, communications or a closely related role.
- A degree in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism, media or another relevant subject.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive approach and strong work ethic.
- Confidence communicating with journalists, producers, solicitors and other professionals.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to short deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
- Good working knowledge of social media platforms and digital content publishing.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
- A professional, confident and personable manner.
The ideal candidate
You will be energetic, commercially aware and genuinely interested in news, media and current affairs.
You will be capable of identifying suitable opportunities, acting on them quickly and following them through to completion. You will also understand that successful media relations depends upon responsiveness, relationship-building and careful administration.
Reliability, organisation and a strong work ethic are essential. As media requests can be time-sensitive, you must be adaptable and able to remain calm and professional under pressure.

Pay: £26,500.00-£30,500.00 per year
