Aztec Day Services is looking for caring, reliable and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our friendly team. We provide person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, autism and additional needs.
The successful applicants will support individuals to participate in meaningful activities, develop their independence and enjoy being part of their local community.
Main responsibilities
- Providing respectful, person-centred support
- Supporting individuals with community activities and outings
- Encouraging independence, confidence and life skills
- Providing some personal care when required
- Supporting individuals during mealtimes
- Following care plans, risk assessments and behaviour-support guidance
- Safeguarding the health, safety and wellbeing of the people we support
- Completing accurate daily notes, incident forms and other records
- Supporting with transport to and from activities
- Communicating professionally with families, colleagues and other professionals
About you

- Comfortable providing some personal care when required
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Committed to promoting dignity, choice and independence
- Able to communicate clearly and complete written records
- Flexible and willing to participate in a variety of activities
Previous experience in health or social care is desirable but not essential, as training and support will be provided.
Training and probation
The position is subject to a three-month probationary period. Required training and shadow shifts will be paid following successful completion of the probationary period.
Driving requirements
Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence, have access to a suitable vehicle and be willing to obtain business-use insurance.
Authorised mileage incurred while supporting activities is paid at 45p per mile.
Working hours
The usual working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am–4:00pm. Team members may also be required to work one Saturday morning in every eight, from 9:00am–1:00pm.
Full-time and part-time applications will be considered.
