Contract: Full Time, 37 Hours per Week Reports to: Chief Operating Officer Salary: £38 000 - £45 000 dependent on experience. Location: Halifax, West Yorkshire (Head Office Based). Other: DBS check and satisfactory references required prior to employment.

ANDYSMANCLUB is one of the UK's fastest-growing men's suicide prevention charities, providing free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the UK and online. Founded in Halifax in 2016, we have grown into a nationwide movement driven by volunteers, staff and supporters who share a common belief: it's okay to talk.
As we continue to expand our reach and impact, we're looking for a People & Support Lead to help build the foundations that will support our staff, volunteers and future growth.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the people's experience at ANDYSMANCLUB.
Working under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, you will play a key role in developing and enhancing our people practices, systems and culture. From recruitment and onboarding through to learning and development, wellbeing and performance support, you will help ensure that both our staff and volunteers have the tools, support and opportunities they need to succeed.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about people, enjoys creating effective processes and systems, and wants to contribute to the growth of an organisation that places people at the centre of everything it does.
You will be responsible for supporting the development of a positive and engaging experience for both staff and volunteers, helping us attract, develop and retain talented individuals as we continue to grow our impact across the UK.
Recruitment & Talent Attraction
- Lead and coordinate recruitment activity across the organisation.
- Develop and improve recruitment processes and candidate experience.
- Support managers with attraction, selection and onboarding.
- Build talent pipelines to support future growth.
- Promote ANDYSMANCLUB as an employer and volunteer organisation of choice.
- Support workforce planning and future people requirements.
Onboarding & Induction
- Develop and manage staff and volunteer onboarding processes.
- Ensure all new starters receive a positive and consistent introduction to the organisation.
- Coordinate induction programmes and probation processes.
- Support managers to integrate new team members effectively.
- Continuously improve the onboarding experience.
Learning & Development
- Identify organisational learning and development needs.
- Create and coordinate development opportunities for staff and volunteers.
- Support leadership and management development initiatives.
- Develop internal learning pathways and progression frameworks.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and growth.
- Support succession planning and career development initiatives.
Employee Relations & HR Advisory
- Act as the first point of contact for managers on employee relations matters.
- Provide advice and guidance on employment law, HR policies and best practice.
- Manage employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and conduct matters.
- Conduct and support workplace investigations where required.
- Support managers in handling performance management and development discussions.
- Manage absence cases, including short-term and long-term sickness.
- Support organisational change initiatives, consultations, restructures and redundancy processes where required.
- Ensure all employee relations matters are handled fairly, consistently and in line with legislation and organisational policies.
Performance & People Support
- Support the development and implementation of performance management frameworks and processes.
- Coach and support managers in holding effective performance and development conversations.
- Promote high performance through coaching, support and development.
- Contribute to organisational effectiveness through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support employee engagement and retention strategies.
Staff & Volunteer Wellbeing
- Champion wellbeing across the organisation.
- Develop initiatives that support positive mental health and resilience.
- Monitor wellbeing trends and identify areas for improvement.
- Promote a healthy, supportive and inclusive working environment.
- Ensure wellbeing remains embedded within organisational culture.
Volunteer Experience & Satisfaction
- Support the development of a positive volunteer experience.
- Gather feedback and insight from volunteers.
- Identify opportunities to improve volunteer engagement and retention.
- Work with operational teams to strengthen volunteer support structures.
- Help ensure volunteers feel valued, recognised and connected to our mission.
People Systems, Compliance & Organisational Development
- Develop and implement people policies, processes and systems.
- Ensure employment contracts, employee records and HR documentation are maintained accurately.
- Improve workforce data, reporting and people insights.
- Produce HR metrics and reports to support organisational decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, GDPR requirements and HR best practice.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness and employee experience.
- Support the organisation in building sustainable people infrastructure for future growth.
