We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our scientific research team. Duties
- Prepare and process samples using specialised techniques such as microscopy and biochemical assays
- Conduct experiments in accordance with established protocols and research objectives
- Operate laboratory instruments including microscopes, spectrophotometers, and other analytical equipment
- Analyse data using statistical software such as R, Python, and MATLAB to identify trends and support research conclusions
- Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, observations, and results in laboratory journals
- Assist in the development and optimisation of experimental methods and protocols
- Ensure all laboratory activities comply with health and safety regulations
- Support team members with scientific research tasks and contribute to report writing and presentations
Requirements
- Proven experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within clinical research or biochemistry fields
- Strong knowledge of microscopy techniques and biochemical analysis methods
- Proficiency in data analysis software including R, Python, MATLAB, and related tools
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Good understanding of scientific research principles and methodology
- Relevant qualifications in biochemistry, biology, or related disciplines are highly desirable
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Attention to detail and strong analysis skills to ensure accuracy of results
