HAIRDRESSING EDUCATOR & ASSESSOR

Serenity Loves Hair & Beauty is looking for an experienced, passionate and nurturing Hairdressing Educator & Assessor to join our team in Peterborough.
Training and developing future hairdressers has always been a huge part of what we do. Over the years, we have supported more than 30 people through apprenticeships and hairdressing qualifications, with many progressing into successful careers as stylists, senior stylists, educators, self-employed hairdressers and salon owners.
We are now looking for an experienced educator and assessor who shares our passion for maintaining high standards and helping learners become confident, capable and commercially successful hairdressers.
THE ROLE
As our Hairdressing Educator & Assessor, you will be responsible for supporting, teaching and assessing learners working towards Level 2 and Level 3 Hairdressing qualifications.
You will work closely with our learners to develop both their practical ability and theoretical knowledge, helping them progress confidently towards their qualifications while preparing them for the realities of working successfully within the hairdressing industry.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging practical and theory-based hairdressing training
- Teaching and developing skills including cutting, colouring, styling and consultation
- Assessing learners against the relevant qualification standards
- Carrying out practical observations and assessments
- Providing constructive, supportive feedback and clear development plans
- Monitoring learner progress and identifying areas requiring additional support
- Supporting learners with portfolio and evidence requirements
- Maintaining accurate assessment and learner records
- Preparing learners for assessments and successful completion of their qualifications
- Helping learners develop confidence, professionalism, client communication and commercial salon skills
- Working alongside our salon team to ensure learners receive consistent, high-quality support and development
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Applicants must:
- Hold a recognised Level 2 Hairdressing qualification
- Hold a recognised Level 3 Hairdressing qualification
- Hold a recognised Assessor qualification (or equivalent current recognised assessing qualification)
- Have substantial hands-on hairdressing industry experience
- Have excellent technical knowledge across cutting, colouring and styling
- Be confident assessing both practical skills and underpinning knowledge
- Understand the standards expected within professional hairdressing qualifications
Teaching qualifications and previous experience delivering hairdressing education would be highly advantageous.
