Large Format Digital Print Operator
Kent
£28,000 – £32,000 DOE
Monday to Friday | 40 hours per week
Overtime paid at time and a half
I’m currently recruiting for a Large Format Digital Print Operator to join an established signage and large format print business in Kent.
This is a great opportunity for someone who already has a few years’ experience within digital print and wants to continue developing their skills within a busy, hands-on production environment.
You don’t necessarily need experience on every piece of equipment they operate. They have experienced printers within the team who can provide training, so attitude, a good grounding in print and a willingness to learn are equally important.
The Role
You’ll be working as part of the production team, operating 1.6m through to 3.2m large format digital printing equipment and producing work across a variety of substrates and applications.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Setting up and operating large format digital printing machinery
- Printing across materials including vinyl, banners and rigid substrates
- Preparing and RIPing files ready for production
- Loading media rolls, aligning substrates and managing materials
- Monitoring jobs throughout production to ensure colour accuracy, image clarity and overall print quality
- Carrying out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to minimise downtime
- Supporting the finishing and assembly of printed products
- Operating or assisting with Kongsberg and JWEI digital cutting tables
- Trimming, finishing, folding and packaging completed work
- Safely handling and lifting larger print materials when required
What We're Looking For
Ideally, you’ll already have experience operating large format digital printers and be comfortable working within a busy production environment.
You should also have:
- Experience with RIP software
- A good understanding of large format print production
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Confidence carrying out basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn new equipment
- Ability to work independently as well as part of the wider production team
Experience operating Kongsberg, JWEI, Zünd or similar digital cutting tables would be a big advantage, although training can be provided.
They would also be particularly interested in speaking with someone who has come from a screen printing background and transitioned into digital print.
Hours & Overtime
This is a Monday to Friday position working 40 hours per week.
There will be occasions where additional hours are required during busy periods, including evenings and weekends.
Any overtime worked is paid at time and a half.
What's on Offer?
- £28,000 – £32,000 basic salary DOE
- Monday to Friday, 40-hour week
- Overtime paid at time and a half
- 20 days' holiday + Bank Holidays, increasing with length of service to 25 days + Bank Holidays
- Quarterly attendance bonus of £200 if no sick days are taken during that quarter
- Discretionary Christmas bonus
- Death in Service scheme
- Pension contribution
- On-the-job training from experienced printers
- Opportunity to develop your knowledge across both large format print and digital cutting/finishing
Due to the location of the site and limited public transport links, you'll need to drive.
If you’ve already got a few years of large format/digital print experience and are looking for your next move, I’d be keen to speak with you.
Equally, if you’ve started your career within screen print and have since moved into digital, please get in touch.
