Pre-School Practitioner (Qualified)
Working hours: 8.15am - 3.45pm, 4days a week (To be discussed), TERM TIME ONLY, in line with Essex County Council term dates.

Responsible to: Pre-School Manager & Deputy Manager
Purpose of Job: To work as a keyworker and part of the Pre-School team under the direction of the Pre-School Deputy Manager to provide safe, high quality education and care for young children.
Main Duties:
1. To provide a stimulating learning environment in which every child’s individual needs are met
2. To make the safeguarding of the children in pre school’s care a priority
3. To compile and keep updated Learning Journey’s for key children
4. To complete 2-3 year checks when required
5. To assist with the planning of the curriculum in line with the EYFS Framework
6. To help set up the playroom for the daily programme and tidy away at the end of the session as pre school is a pack away setting
7. To act as a keyworker to a small group of children, liaising closely and build a positive rapport with parents/carers
8. To advise the Pre-School Manager of any concerns e.g. over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary
9. To attend staff meetings
10. To attend training courses and other meetings as required
11. To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff which is learned as part of the job
12. To undertake any other duties commensurate with grade of the post as directed by the Manager or Deputy Manager
Personal Specification
Essential Criteria:
Willingness to learn
Diploma in Pre-School Practice Course of NVQ Level III or equivalent
Previous experience of working with children in Early Years

Desirable criteria:
Previous experience of working with SEN children
