PSK Metonym Systems Ltd is looking for an organized and ambitious Java Developer and involved reporting to the Development Lead and Project Manager. The Java developer's duties include sourcing project requirements, deciding on the most appropriate software solutions, and ensuring that developments are error-free. You should also ensure that the final products are well-presented and engaging.
To ensure success as a Java developer, you should be able to create code using one of the preferred languages – Java. Ultimately, preferred candidates will demonstrate successful completion of, or significant progress towards project completion. We do expect good Java knowledge.

The ideal candidates will need to be educated to UK equivalent of Bachelor’s Degree or related technical field to be able to apply for this position.
The Role:
The role is primarily based in the London however, you may be expected to travel other parts of UK to our client’s premises where your IT expertise is required.
Employment Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Annual Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
· Strong development experience and strong programming knowledge in Java SE/Core, Spring Framework(MVC, REST services, SpringBoot, Security etc), JDBC, ReactJS and Webservice programming.
· Strong programming knowledge in database programming – writing and investigating SQL queries.
· Experience in developing enhancements and troubleshooting issues with minimal assistance.
· Experience in full lifecycle of SDLC methodologies.
· Designing, implementing, and maintaining Java applications that are often high-volume and low-latency, required for mission-critical retail systems.
· Experienced in the design and creation of scalable software and Writing well-designed, efficient, and testable code using Node.js, React.js and Spring Boot.
· Writing clean, functional code both for the front-end and back-end
· Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues
· Delivering high performance Java applications and Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
· Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions
· Design client-side and server-side architecture
· Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design
· Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
· Excited in coming up with ideas on performance improvements and code quality checks.
· Hands on with TFS, Agile methodology, Team City, AWS and Postgres DB are added advantages.
· Strong Experience and Proficiency in TDD, BDD, Cucumber, Gherkin
· Must have strong coding skills in C#, Java, Python and Ruby
· Strong Experience and Proficiency in writing Java codes to automate the test at times
· Gathering functional requirements from a project development strategy perspective
· Good understanding of Front-End UI design patterns
· Ensure proper version control and configuration management of all test objects developed and test environments used.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills with leadership and project stakeholders across different parts of the organization to achieve strategic opportunities and deliver on tactical project milestones alike.
· Bring in continuous deployment practices to enhance our Agile posture
· Where assigned, serve as the owner of quality within the development stream, taking ownership of execution of all required testing.
· Routinely keep the project team, Senior Management Team, and other interested parties informed on the progress and status.
· Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle
· Conduct the systematic quality control of Clients products, applications, and websites.
· Working with other developers and DevOps engineers to design, architect, and implement a robust testing and deployment framework
· Identifying the cause of test failures, attending defect triage with the project team, and monitoring the correction of failures through to resolved status.
