About the Role
Volumetric Modular Ltd is looking for a PUC Assembly Operative to join our growing manufacturing team at our Shrewsbury facility.
As a PUC Assembly Operative, you will be responsible for assembling Prefabricated Utility Cupboards (PUCs) in a controlled factory environment. You will work as part of a production team, following defined processes and quality standards to ensure every unit is manufactured safely, efficiently and to the required specification.
This is a hands-on manufacturing role and would suit someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in producing a quality product and wants to develop their skills within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble PUCs in accordance with production drawings, work instructions and specifications.
- Complete tasks accurately and efficiently to meet daily and weekly production targets.
- Use a range of hand tools and basic power tools safely and correctly.
- Fit components, fixtures, fittings and services as required.
- Check your work throughout the assembly process to ensure it meets quality standards.
- Identify and report defects, damaged materials or quality issues to your Supervisor.
- Follow standard operating procedures and established production processes.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and organised working area.
- Follow all company Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures.
- Complete production and quality records accurately where required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the production team.
- Support continuous improvement activities and help identify opportunities to improve safety, quality and efficiency.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties required to support the production operation.

Ideally, you will have experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or similar hands-on environment. However, full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Experience & Skills
Desirable:
- Previous experience in manufacturing or assembly.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Experience working from drawings or assembly instructions.
- Previous experience working to production targets or KPIs.
Essential:
- Good attitude and willingness to learn.
- Good attendance and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Commitment to producing work to a high standard.
- Ability to work safely and effectively within a busy production environment.
