Sales Support Executive
About the Role
We are looking for an organised, proactive and customer-focused Sales Support Executive to join our Sales team.
This is a key administrative and customer support role within the department, providing day-to-day support to the Head of Sales and external Sales team while ensuring our customers receive an efficient and professional service.
You will be responsible for managing the shared Sales email inbox, processing customer orders and sample requests, responding to customer queries and providing the Sales team with the information they need to effectively manage their accounts.
As a central point of contact between our customers, Sales team and other departments within the business, you will need to be highly organised, responsive and confident taking ownership of tasks through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
· Managing the shared Sales email inbox, ensuring incoming enquiries, purchase orders and requests are actioned promptly or directed to the appropriate person.
· Processing customer sales orders accurately and efficiently.
· Checking customer purchase orders against agreed pricing, quantities and delivery requirements.
· Sending order confirmations and providing customers with updates regarding their orders.
· Processing and coordinating customer sample requests, including arranging despatch and providing tracking information where appropriate.
· Acting as a first point of contact for customers with queries relating to existing orders, deliveries, invoices, stock availability and general account enquiries.
· Liaising with Finance, Purchasing, Operations and Warehouse teams to investigate and resolve customer queries.
· Keeping customers informed of delivery dates, stock availability and any changes or issues affecting their orders.
· Providing day-to-day administrative and operational support to the Head of Sales and external Sales team.
· Accessing internal systems and shared files to retrieve information required by the Head of Sales and external Sales team.
· Carrying out stock availability checks and providing up-to-date information to the Sales team.
· Checking customer pricing, previous quotations, order history and other account information as required.
· Providing customer documentation, pricing information, reports and other information to the Sales team when requested.
· Assisting with the preparation and issuing of customer quotations where required.
· Maintaining accurate customer records, pricing and account information within internal systems and shared files.
· Ensuring outstanding customer and Sales team requests are followed up and completed within appropriate timescales.
· Supporting the Head of Sales with reports, customer information, meeting preparation and other administrative requirements.
· Helping to maintain an organised flow of information between the Sales department and the wider business.
· Providing general administrative support to ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the Sales department.
Skills & Experience
Essential
· Previous experience within sales administration, sales support, customer service, order processing or a similar administrative role.
· Experience processing customer orders and working with internal business systems.
· Experience dealing directly with customers by telephone and email.
· Strong administration and organisational skills.
· Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Confident working with pricing, product information and customer data.
· Ability to manage a busy shared inbox and prioritise incoming requests effectively.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word.
· Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of tasks through to completion.
Desirable
· Experience supporting a field-based or external Sales team.
· Experience using ERP and/or CRM systems.
· Experience handling stock, pricing, delivery and invoice queries.
· Experience within a wholesale, distribution, manufacturing or product-based business.

This role requires someone who genuinely enjoys being the person who keeps things organised and moving.
You will often be the link between a customer, the external Sales team and departments within the business, so you need to be comfortable taking responsibility for finding information and getting an answer.
Role Summary
The Sales Support Executive will be a central part of the Sales function, ensuring customers receive a high standard of service while providing the Head of Sales and external Sales team with the administrative and operational support they need.
This role would suit someone who enjoys administration, customer interaction and problem solving and who takes satisfaction from being organised, finding answers and making sure things get done.
Salary & Benefits
· Salary: £29,000–£31,000 per annum, depending on experience
· Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break
· Location: Wellingborough – this is a fully office-based position
· Holiday: 20 days annual leave plus UK bank holidays
· Pension: Workplace pension scheme
· Contract: Full-time, permanent
