You will supervise a team of planning technicians with the main objective of validating planning applications and providing support services across the planning department. About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Planning Technician to join our well-established Development Management team at Cheshire East. You will supervise a team of planning technicians with the main objective of validating planning applications and providing support services across the planning department. You will play a key role in the planning service, including the administration and support work for planning appeals and committees. You will be joining at a time of growth in the department. The team is dealing with an interesting and varied caseload of development proposals, and the role is important to ensure that the planning applications that are submitted to the Council contain correct and accurate information and that key legislative processes are followed such as the correct consultation with local residents.

About you
- You should have supervisory experience or experience leading teams and a knowledge of the planning system. Or you should have extensive experience of validating planning applications and planning administration work that would enable you to step up into a team leading role.
- You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with all stakeholders in the planning process.
- You must be organised with an eye for detail and possess excellent ICT skills.
- You should enjoy problem solving and working to deadlines.
- To be successful in this role you must be customer focused with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
