MT Early years Class Teaching Assistant (Part-Time)
Location: Newton Leys, Milton Keynes
Start Date: September/October
Amber Elephant is looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and reliable Musical Theatre Class Teaching Assistant to support our Level 1 Musical Theatre sessions from September or October!
Role Details:
- Day: Fridays during term time
- Time: 4:10-5:10
- Class Age Group: 3-6 years
- Location: Newton Leys, Milton Keynes
- Additional cover hours and opportunity for more regular weekly hours may be available to right candidate for our other performing arts classes on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead Musical Theatre teacher in delivering engaging and imaginative sessions
- Support children with activities, group work, and performance preparation
- Help manage classroom behaviour in a positive, encouraging way
- Help set up and pack away props and materials. Sign students in/out of class.
- Provide one-to-one support for children who may need extra help
- Encourage creativity, confidence, and participation in every child
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and fun learning environment
- Have fun! Our early years classes are an introduction to performing arts so we need a Teaching Assistant who is happy to join in and be silly.
This role is ideal for someone who:
✅ Has experience working with children (ideally in a creative or educational setting)
✅ Is passionate about the performing arts
✅ Is dependable, energetic, and a great communicator
✅ Can work collaboratively as part of a team
Requirments
- Must have an enhanced DBS or willing to obtain one
- Be kind, enthusiastic and reliable
- A background in performing arts is essential
- Must be over the age of 16 years
