Ofsted Registered Manager – New Solo Placement EBD Home
Salary: £55,000–£70,000 (depending on experience)

Are you an experienced Ofsted Registered Manager with a proven track record of achieving Good or Outstanding ratings? We are seeking a highly motivated, ambitious leader to launch and lead a new solo placement EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) children’s home.
This is an exciting opportunity for an established RM who thrives on building services from the ground up, delivering exceptional care standards, and shaping a therapeutic environment where young people can thrive—with full ongoing support from experienced Directors and a dedicated Responsible Individual (RI) every step of the way.
About the Role
As the Registered Manager, you will have full autonomy and responsibility for the setup, registration, and leadership of a brand-new solo EBD home, while benefiting from hands-on strategic and operational support from senior leadership. You will drive excellence in safeguarding, compliance, staff development, and outcomes for young people while working closely with Directors and the RI to expand and progress your career.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Ofsted registration process for a new solo placement children’s home
- Develop and implement high-quality care plans tailored to young people with EBD needs
- Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards
- Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing care team
- Create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic home environment
- Manage budgets, occupancy, and operational performance
- Build strong relationships with local authorities, stakeholders, and external professionals
- Consistently drive toward Good or Outstanding outcomes
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager within children’s residential care
- Demonstrable history of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings
- Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Proven leadership, team-building, and service development skills
- Passion for delivering exceptional outcomes for children and young people
