We are currently recruiting for a full-time experienced HGV Painter/Prepper within our Peterborough site.
No agencies please
Main Responsibilities includes but not limited to:
- Preparing vehicles using technical skills to a high standard
- Preparing vehicles for paint as requested
- Ensuring the correct disposal process is followed for all waste produced by the Paintshop
- Complying with all relevant Health and Safety requirements including the correct use of PPE
- Provide and deliver a high quality service to internal and external customers of the department and business
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience using vibrating tools
- Experience in Commercial Vehicle painting (HGV, Trucks, trailers and vans)
- Read and understand written instructions.
- A level of competence in using spray equipment
- Experience with using solvent based and water based paints.
- Be able to mask up jobs required
- Filler work and damage repair ready to paint
- Lift heavy items onto trollies/jigs
- Repair work (filler)
- Have leadership skills
- Able to work as a team
- Reliable
- Good time keeping
- Work as a team player or confident to work alone
- Understand the use of PPE equipment
- Understand and be able to safely use cleaners (solvents)
- An understanding of the preparation process on items ready to paint
- Be able to work at heights and safe use of ladders
- Be efficient in your work
- Keep a tidy work area
The position is weekly paid, overtime available.
The shift time is 07:30am to 16:00pm Monday to Friday
