Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Person to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities and equipment. This role requires a versatile individual with strong technical knowledge, leadership qualities, and excellent customer service skills. The Maintenance Person will play a vital part in maintaining safety standards, reducing downtime, and supporting operational efficiency across our organisation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimise breakdowns.
- Repair and troubleshoot electrical systems, including the use of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics.
- Perform welding tasks as required, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs carried out.
- Assist with mechanical repairs, including replacing parts, lubricating machinery, and adjusting components.
- Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and electrical wiring diagrams to diagnose issues effectively.
- Supervise junior maintenance staff or contractors during complex repair tasks, providing guidance as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal requests promptly and professionally.
- Lead by example in maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in maintenance roles with a strong background in electrical systems, mechanical repairs, welding, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and ability to read schematics.
- Electrical experience combined with mechanical knowledge is essential.
- Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience within a maintenance setting.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in electrical or mechanical trades are desirable but not essential.
