Job Summary
We are looking for an outgoing, friendly and hard-working customer service assistant to join our award-winning team. The successful applicant will be involved in offering our high standards of customer service whilst dealing with customer queries. Other duties will include various computer work including administration tasks and adding product information to our website.
Duties
- Answer and direct phone calls in a professional and efficient manner.
- Serve customers with confidence and in a friendly, conversational manor.
- Assist with general admin duties including customer data entry, mailing, scanning, typing and copying.
- Produce attractive and clear point of sale / signage as required using available templates.
- Carry out general stock maintenance and receiving new deliveries.
- Operating the till with confidence & accuracy.
- Respond directly to customers, delivering our award-winning level of customer service.
- Prepare and input the required data for consistent and attractive website product listings.
- To maintain high standards of cleanliness and a safe working environment in all areas.
The key duties list is not exhaustive we require you to be flexible and carry out tasks according to the requirements of the company.
Requirements
- Able to work in a professional and confidential mannerBasic computer skills.
- Familiar with data protection and GDPR legislation in relation to handling staff and customer information.
- Applicants should be pleasant and self-motivated, experience of working in a similar role is preferred.
- We require you to work most bank holidays and weekends on a rota basis.
- Good customer skills and the ability to deal with the public.
- Able to communicate with colleagues, management and the public in the shop and over the phone.
- Well presented.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Lifting and manual work will be required.

- You will be part of a hard-working team, so we require you to be able to work closely with others.
- Report to the Garden Centre Management Team.
