Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Operations Technician / Mechanical Fitter to join us on a permanent basis in our busy engineering overhaul division. We are looking for a self-motivated person who is able to plan their day using the reports on our internal database and complete work in an organised and timely fashion. A lot of the work we do is rail related so experience of working in the industry would be advantageous.
This is a full time, permanent position, working Monday – Thursday, 7.00am – 4.00pm, Friday 7.00am – 1.30pm.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on various mechanical equipment.
- Carry out routine maintenance and diagnostic fault finding on Rail HVAC units.
- Assist with the strip down and repair of HVAC and other Rail-related products when required.
- Stripping and rewiring of electrical components, as well as electrical testing.
- Brazing.
- Operate a range of HVAC test and electrical equipment.
- Ensure all Health and Safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Using in-house reporting, ensure all work is quoted and completed on time.
- Ensure your workspace is clean and organised at all times.
Skills / Requirements:
- Experience of working within a similar role.
- Effective and professional communication skills - verbal and written.
- Detailed oriented and ability to multitask.
- Able to work individually or as part of a team.
- Able to read drawings.
- Previous experience in a rail industry would be advantageous.
- Fork Lift Licence and Full UK Driving Licence – desirable

Pay: £30,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
