Residential Support Worker (RSW) – 2-Bed EBD Children's Home
We're looking for a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our team in a 2-bed children's home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). You'll help provide a safe, stable, and nurturing home where children can thrive, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, child-centred care and support.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people.
- Promote the safety, wellbeing, and emotional development of each child.
- Support with daily routines, education, appointments, and recreational activities.
- Encourage independence and teach valuable life skills.
- Maintain accurate daily records and complete reports.
- Work in line with safeguarding procedures, Ofsted regulations, and company policies.
- Respond confidently and professionally to challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support approaches.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for each child.
What We're Looking For
- A caring, patient, and reliable individual with a genuine passion for supporting children.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Previous residential childcare or support work experience is desirable but not essential.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable.
Shift Pattern & Requirements
- 2 on, 4 off shift pattern.
- 160 hours per month
- Average of 8–10 sleep-ins per month.
- Applicants must be aged 21 or over due to the nature of the role.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins as part of the rota.
