About Us
ATC is a well-established manufacturer of world leading loudspeakers and we manufacture high-quality cabinets in-house. We take pride in the standard of finish we deliver to our customers, and we're looking for a dedicated Production Operative to join our finishing team.
The Role
We're looking for a hands-on, detail-focused Production Operative to prepare wooden and MDF components for spraying, and to denib between coats. This is a hugely important role within our production process — the quality of preparation directly determines the quality of the final painted finish, particularly when working with high density MDF (HDF).
Key Responsibilities:
- Sand wooden and MDF parts by hand and/or using power sanding tools to prepare surfaces ready for spraying
- Denib components between coats to remove imperfections and achieve a smooth, high-quality surface
- Inspect components closely for defects, marks, or inconsistencies and rectify as needed
- Work to consistently high standards of finish, in line with company quality expectations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area
- Handle and move components carefully to avoid damage
- Work efficiently to help meet daily production targets
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including correct use of PPE and dust extraction equipment
What We're Looking For
- Excellent attention to detail and a good eye for spotting imperfections
- Strong concentration and the ability to maintain consistent quality over repetitive tasks
- Physically fit, as the role involves standing for extended periods, manual handling, and repetitive movements
- A methodical, patient approach to work
- Experience working with wood, MDF, or in a similar manufacturing/joinery environment is advantageous, but not essential — full training will be provided
- Previous experience in sanding, denibbing, or spray preparation would be a strong advantage
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team
If you take pride in your work, have a keen eye for detail, and enjoy seeing a job through from raw material to finished product, we'd love to hear from you.
