Job Summary:
SLaM NHS Foundation Trust, one of the UK’s leading mental health trusts, is seeking a skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team. The consultant will provide expert clinical leadership, deliver high-quality psychiatric care, and contribute to service development and teaching within the Trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients within your specialty.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care.
- Manage complex cases and provide clinical supervision to junior doctors and other clinical staff.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical services.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, professional standards, and Trust policies.
- Engage in audit, research, quality improvement, and service development activities.
- Deliver teaching and training for medical students, junior doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with primary care, social services, and other partner organizations to ensure integrated patient care.
- Contribute to the Trust’s governance and risk management processes.
- Participate in on-call rota and emergency psychiatric care (as per specialty and agreement).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Medical degree with full GMC registration and a licence to practise.
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Psychiatry or equivalent.
- Significant experience as a consultant or senior specialist in psychiatry.
- Eligibility for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register.
- Experience in service development, leadership, and multidisciplinary team working.
- Evidence of teaching, research, or audit participation is desirable.

Pay: From £77.79 per day
