Therapeutic Residential Support Worker – Supporting Young People to Thrive
Our Children’s home in Shustoke and Kingsbury are looking to recruit full-time therapeutic workers. We are seeking dedicated, emotionally intelligent individuals to join our team as Therapeutic Workers, supporting up to four young people within a nurturing, structured environment. This role is ideal for someone who believes in therapeutic care, understands the emotions behind behaviours, and wants to help young people build brighter, more independent futures. About the Role
As a Therapeutic Residential Support Worker, you will:
- Work within a therapeutic approach, using PACE principles (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy)
- Understand the emotions behind behaviours, not just the behaviours themselves
- Support young people to achieve their goals, targets, and personal development plans
- Encourage and guide independence skills, such as daily routines, life skills, and decision‑making
- Provide consistent care, emotional support, and structure
- Work collaboratively with parents and external professionals to achieve the most for our young people
- Manage and de‑escalate challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning
Role Requirements
This is a dynamic role that requires flexibility and commitment. You must be able to:
- Work shift patterns, including weekends
- Shift hours 08:00 - 23:00pm, one day on, two days off. Requires the ability to complete sleep‑in duties as part of the rota.
- Cover some bank holidays
- Transport young people using a work vehicle
- Hold a full UK driving licence and not have any driving disqualifications
- Be 21 or over (insurance requirement)
- Whilst experience in this exact role is not required, experience working with children or young people is preferred, this can be in any sector.

Pay scale ranging between - £13.21 - £14.90 per hour depending on qualifications which can be discussed at interview.
Sleep in rate £57.31.
