Registered Manager – Children's Homes Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 - Gravesend Area - Full time
We are excited to be working with a fantastic Residential Children's Service who is looking to expand their service and bring on an experienced Registered Children's Manager for their new home. As Home Manager, you'll take the lead in a therapeutic residential children's home in Gravesend.
About the Role
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the home, ensuring high standards of care and full compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes legislation.
You will lead and develop a staff team to deliver person-centred care, promote positive outcomes, and maintain a strong safeguarding culture across the service.
Registered Children's Home Manager Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a children's home, ensuring excellent standards of care
- Maintain a strong child-centred and therapeutic culture across both services
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Quality Standards
- Lead, motivate and develop a small team of residential care professionals
- Deliver high-quality supervision, support and performance management
- Manage safeguarding concerns and promote a culture of safety
- Oversee care planning, risk management and positive behaviour support
- Build effective relationships with Local Authorities and partner agencies
- Manage budgets, occupancy and operational resources effectively
- Complete quality assurance processes and drive continuous improvement
- Participate in the management on-call rota
- Provide practical operational support to the homes when required
Essential for the Registered Manager
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within required timescales)
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
- Experience working within residential childcare settings
- Experience supervising and managing staff teams
- Sound knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
- Previous Registered Manager experience
- Experience managing multiple homes or services
- Therapeutic or trauma-informed practice training
- Experience of achieving positive Ofsted outcomes
- Budget management experience
