Overview
We are seeking a dedicated FLT (Forklift) Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing materials handling, shipping and receiving operations, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within the warehouse environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in warehouse management systems to contribute to our organisation’s success. Responsibilities
- Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and proper handling of goods.
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accordingly.
- Perform basic equipment repairs or report faults to maintenance teams to minimise downtime.
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper stacking, storage, and organisation within designated areas.
- Conduct regular inspections of forklift equipment to ensure safety standards are maintained.
- Assist in organising stock levels, conducting stock counts, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Support other warehouse activities such as order picking, packing, and general housekeeping.
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklift trucks in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control.
- Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting.
- Experience with materials handling, load & unload procedures, and shipping & receiving processes.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate stock management.
- Basic maths skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities.
- Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks and prolonged periods of standing or moving within the warehouse environment.
- Ability to work safely following health and safety regulations at all times. This role is ideal for motivated individuals with warehouse experience seeking a responsible position that combines operational duties with opportunities for skill development in logistics management.
