Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Level 3 Childcare Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children, fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about early childhood development and committed to supporting children's growth and learning. The position involves managing daily activities, supervising children, and working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
This role will be for after school club provision, with working hours approximately 15:00-18:00. This will be a permanent contract with guaranteed hours.
Duties
- Deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education standards.
- Supervise children during play, meals, rest periods, and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Support children's emotional well-being by providing comfort, reassurance, and positive interactions.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, behaviour, and developmental milestones.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for children and families.
- Manage daily routines efficiently while adapting to the individual needs of each child.
- Lead and mentor junior staff or apprentices as required, demonstrating management and leadership skills.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including safeguarding policies.
- Assist with organising outings or special events that enrich the children’s experience.
Qualifications
- Recognised Level 3 Childcare Qualification or equivalent in early childhood education.
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting.
- Strong management skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with a proactive approach to childcare responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of current childcare legislation, safeguarding procedures, and best practices in early childhood development.
- Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining a nurturing attitude towards children.
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
