The Associate Director of Finance, Contracting, Costing and Income, is responsible for leading and developing the Trust’s work in relation to:
NHS Commissioner Contracts;
Delivering an effective service line reporting and costing function;
Managing the Trust’s contract income position; and
Deploying an effective overseas visitor’s policy.
The post holder will act as a key member of the Trust’s Senior Financ e Team and be responsible for shaping three fundamental areas of the Finance Department’s offering to the wider organisation.
Service Line Review
Delivering an enhanced service line reporting capability, focused on measuring and benchmarking clinical productivity and unwarranted variation
Producing market assessment studies for clinical strategy development.
Leading the analytical strand of the annual planning programme.
Leading analytical activities for NHS Commissioning and Contracting purposes
Income and Overseas Visitors Policy
Leading all key activities to generate contract income information for:
o Financial Management Reporting purposes.
o Monitoring Clinical Group performance against ODP activity and income planning assumptions.
o Administer invoice and reconciliation activities associated with Contracted Commissioners, Overseas Visitors and NCA.
NHS Commissioner Contracts
Leading an effective Contracting Approach which promotes the Trust’s business objectives and those of the wider Health Economy. This involves:
o Effective risk management: identifying and monitoring risks and issues, planning how to mitigate/respond to those risks and issues and implement the responses.
o Building good relationships: developing a proactive working relationship with Commissioning Colleagues to get business done.

The post holder will provide professional leadership, coaching, and technical / personal development to the staff in the team to ensure that, as a team, they meet the operational and strategic needs of the Trust. To be responsible for recruitment, performance and disciplinary issues as necessary.
