Boarding Cattery Assistant
We are looking for a full time cattery assistant to join our team of cat carers at our cat hotel with onsite veterinary practice in NW2 London. A love of cats is a necessity.
Duties include:
Cleaning all boarding areas and adhering to a high standard of cleanliness and care at all times.
Setting up individual penthouse cat accommodation, bedding litter trays, scratch posts etc
Feeding general and specific diets as per owners requirements
Grooming cats and giving individual care and attention as required
Assisting veterinary nurses with administration of specific medication to boarding cats as required
Observation of infection control and understanding vaccine protocols, flea and worming treatments
Observing isolation protocol as required
Assisting with boarding care for small furries such as gerbils, hamsters and guinea pigs
Understanding cat behaviour and the ability to detect changes in demeanour or changes in feeding habits
Speaking to pet owners face to face and over the phone
Following cattery admission protocols such as correct vaccine requirements
Booking correct accommodation and adhering to individual requirements
Boarding cattery admissions and discharges with pet owners
Taking deposits and payments as necessary
Updating cattery booking diary
Updating practice computer database and record keeping
Updating pet owners during their cats stay, either over the phone or via email.
Liaising with our veterinary team in regards to cats under veterinary care during their stay.
Our boarding cattery is busiest during school holidays, half term holidays and bank holidays including Christmas holidays.
We are a small business, therefore a positive client and pet experience is paramount. The successful candidate must have attention to detail and a willingness to help.
During busy periods, working in the cattery can be physically demanding. Therefore, a good level of physical fitness is required for this role.
Hours: 40hr week
Working hours are:
Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm or 10am to 7pm
1:3 Weekends (Saturdays 9am to 6pm and Sundays 9am to 6pm) with days off i lieu
Working bank holidays with time off in lieu
28 days holiday per year

£24k per annum
