The Centre Support Assistant – Front of House (FOH) plays a key role within the Visitor Services Team, which is dedicated to delivering a seamless and positive customer experience at Calshot Activities Centre. This role supports the effective operation of front-of-house services, ensuring that all visitors receive a warm welcome and high-quality service throughout their visit. In addition to dealing with customer interactions, including taking bookings, the post holder assists essential support services to help drive secondary income through efficient use of facilities and resources. The role supports the centre to maintain operational excellence, supporting commercial performance, and upholding the Centre’s reputation for outstanding customer service.
The Centre Support Assistant – Front of House (FOH) position includes performing front-of-house operations, being the first point of contact for our customers whether face to face, over the phone or online, providing a welcoming environment for all visitors.
As the Centre Support Assistant – Front of House, you will be the friendly face and welcoming voice of Calshot Activities Centre, creating a positive first impression for every visitor. You'll enjoy a varied role where no two days are the same, helping customers with bookings, enquiries, check-ins and payments while ensuring they receive outstanding service at every stage of their journey. With a naturally approachable and organised style, you'll build strong relationships with visitors, promote the wide range of activities and services available across Hampshire Outdoor Centres, and help enhance the customer experience while supporting the Centre's commercial success.
Beyond customer service, you'll be a key part of the team that keeps the Centre running smoothly behind the scenes. From maintaining accurate booking records and supporting financial processes to coordinating deliveries, assisting with events, and helping ensure facilities are clean, safe and welcoming, you'll contribute to every aspect of the visitor experience. Working closely with colleagues, contractors and customers, you'll take pride in solving problems, supporting the wider team, and playing an active role in the continued success, reputation and growth of one of the UK's premier outdoor activity centres.

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, experience providing high-quality customer service and administration support, and the confidence to manage bookings, enquiries, and financial transactions accurately and professionally. As this is a seven day a week service, you’ll be required to work a shift pattern to respond to the demands of the service. Your working pattern will include working weekends and bank holidays for which enhancements will be paid in line with the Hampshire County Council salary policy.
