Operations Manager – DJL Petfoods Ingredients Ltd
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily operational activities to ensure the efficient running of the business.
This role involves leading daily briefings with shift manager and supervisors to allocate tasks, establish timescales, and review key performance indicators (KPIs) across all essential operational areas.
A key responsibility of the role is stock and materials management, including monitoring stock usage and requirements, scheduling sales and incoming raw materials, and conducting regular weekly stock takes to maintain accuracy and operational continuity.
The Operations Manager also provides support across logistics and transport functions when required. This includes transport planning, load card creation and review for outgoing materials, and managing the booking in and out of all incoming and outgoing materials across relevant system platforms.
Working closely with the Compliance Manager, the role supports quality assurance and material analysis processes through daily operational reviews. Regular liaison with warehouse leadership is required to coordinate warehouse activities and maintain operational efficiency.
The role requires a flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to adapt schedules and respond to changing operational demands as necessary. Responsibility also includes carrying out HACCP and Health & Safety reviews to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily operational briefings with supervisors to assign tasks and set completion timescales.
- Review and monitor daily KPIs across essential operational functions.
- Manage stock usage and stock requirement reviews on a daily and weekly basis.
- Coordinate sales scheduling and incoming raw material deliveries.
- Support transport planning and logistics operations when required.
- Create and review load cards for outgoing materials.
- Manage booking in and booking out processes across all operational systems.
- Liaise daily with warehouse management regarding operational activities.
- Work closely with the Compliance Manager on quality and material analysis reviews.
- Conduct weekly stock takes as a minimum requirement.
- Carry out HACCP and Health & Safety reviews as required.
- Maintain flexibility to adjust operational schedules in response to business needs.
