Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef within a professional kitchen environment.
- Previous supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team.
- Strong background in food preparation, production, and service.
- Excellent cooking skills across a variety of cuisines and culinary techniques.
- Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and current regulations.
- Previous experience within the hospitality or restaurant industry is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask under pressure.
- Experience in menu development, food presentation, and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while taking initiative when required.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, promoting a positive, productive, and professional working environment.
- Oversee all food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met.
- Assist in developing innovative and seasonal menus that meet customer expectations and current food trends.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Manage stock levels, place orders, and monitor food costs to maximise profitability and minimise waste.
- Train, mentor, and support junior kitchen staff in their professional development.
- Work closely with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Monitor kitchen operations during service periods, maintaining quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Implement and uphold all health and safety procedures within the kitchen.
- Maintain the organisation and cleanliness of kitchen equipment, storage areas, and workspaces.
