Henson Engineering Ltd is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Plate Welder Level 3 Apprentice. You'll complete your apprenticeship through Bridgwater & Taunton College while gaining valuable hands-on experience in our busy fabrication workshop.
What You'll Be Doing
Working alongside experienced fabricators and welders, you will learn to:
- MIG weld mild steel components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Manufacture steel products to a high standard.
- Use workshop machinery and equipment safely.
- Learn fabrication techniques.
- Work as part of a skilled engineering team.
- Develop practical skills while studying towards your Level 3 qualification.
College
You'll attend Bridgwater & Taunton College to complete the Plate Welder Level 3 Apprenticeship, combining classroom learning with practical experience in the workplace.
What We're Looking For
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
- Good practical and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic.
- Able to work well as part of a team.
- GCSEs (or predicted grades), including Maths and English, are desirable.
- A genuine interest in engineering, fabrication and welding.
Summer Work Available
Successful applicants can start paid work over the summer before the apprenticeship officially begins in September. This is a great opportunity to get to know the team, gain workshop experience and build your confidence before starting college.
