Love 2 Learn Nursery is looking for a reliable, organised, and enthusiastic Nursery Cook to join our friendly team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys preparing fresh, nutritious meals and understands the important role good nutrition plays in supporting young children's growth and development.
About the Role
As our Nursery Cook, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children aged 3 months to 5 years, ensuring all food is prepared to a high standard and in line with food hygiene and allergy requirements. Please note this is an all year round position.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and cooking fresh, nutritious meals and snacks each day.
- Following varied menus that meet the nutritional needs of young children.
- Catering for allergies, dietary requirements, and cultural preferences.
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene standards and ensuring compliance with Food Standards Agency guidance.
- Keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and well maintained.
- Monitoring and recording food temperatures and completing all required food safety documentation.
- Managing stock, placing orders, and reducing food waste.
- Working closely with the nursery management team to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience working in a professional kitchen (experience within a nursery, school, or care setting is desirable but not essential).
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Have a good understanding of food allergies, special diets, and food safety.
- Be organised, reliable, and able to work independently.
- Take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen.
- Enjoy being part of a friendly and supportive team.
