JDL Contractors Ltd is a growing contractor specialising in social housing refurbishment projects, with a strong focus on kitchen and bathroom refurbishments. Due to continued workload, we are looking to recruit a reliable and hardworking Labourer / Kitchen & Bathroom Strip-Out Operative to join our team.
Role & Responsibilities
- Carrying out kitchen and bathroom strip-outs within occupied and void social housing properties
- Removing existing kitchens, bathrooms, sanitaryware, wall tiles, flooring, and associated fixtures and fittings
- Assisting tradespeople with refurbishment and installation works as required
- Loading, unloading, and moving materials and equipment safely around site
- Removing waste materials and maintaining clean, organised work areas
- Protecting tenants' homes and communal areas during refurbishment works
- Following health and safety procedures at all times
- Reporting any site issues, defects, or additional works identified during strip-out activities
- Working professionally and courteously within occupied properties
Requirements
- Previous experience in construction labouring, demolition, strip-out, or refurbishment works
- Experience removing kitchens, bathrooms, tiles, flooring, and general fixtures is preferred
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools
- Good understanding of site health and safety requirements
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual handling duties
- Valid CSCS card
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude when dealing with tenants
- Reliable, hardworking, and committed to delivering high standards of work
