The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled ir conditioning service engineer to join the specialist HVAC team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance, responding to reactive maintenance requests, and supporting project-related work across a range of commercial and industrial sites. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong technical skills and industry experience to work with cutting-edge technology, providing high-quality service and support to our valued customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on HVAC and associated mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance call-outs, diagnosing faults and resolving issues efficiently.
- Carry out repairs, remedial works, and component replacements on a wide range of HVAC equipment.
- Service, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across commercial properties.
- Perform routine inspections to identify potential defects and proactively prevent equipment failures.
- Undertake fault finding and diagnostic testing on mechanical and HVAC systems, providing effective solutions.
- Accurately complete service reports, maintenance records, and job documentation in a timely manner.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Adhere to client-specific requirements and company procedures while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients by delivering excellent customer service and technical support.
- Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota as required to support emergency maintenance services.
What We Are Looking For
Required
- Excellent working knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment and systems.
- Valid F-Gas Category 1 Certification.
- Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and fault finding.
- Proven experience servicing, maintaining, and fault finding on commercial air conditioning systems, including VRV/VRF, split, and multi-split systems.
- Experience working with leading manufacturers, including Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
- Experience using Service Checkers or a similar field service management system to manage jobs, complete service reports, and maintain accurate records.
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills and a good working knowledge of HVAC controls and control systems.
- Relevant health and safety training, with a sound understanding of current legislation and practical experience of safe working practices.
- A flexible approach to travel and occasional overnight stays
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong communication, organisational, and customer service skills.
- A proactive, flexible approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, HVAC, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Ability to work at heights and be able to obtain certification in IPAF and PASMA
- Experience working with chillers, DX close control units, heat pumps, refrigeration systems, BMS controls, and associated mechanical plant.
- Experience working with Air Handling Units (AHUs) and using Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor, control, and diagnose system performance.
