Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Warehouse Manager to lead and oversee all warehouse operations, stock control, and preparation of company vans for our engineering teams. This role will ensure the warehouse is efficiently managed, stocked, and organised, supporting both in-house installation teams and our sub-contractor network.
Key Responsibilities
Stock & Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate stock control and ensure minimum stock levels are sustained.
- Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts to ensure data accuracy.
- Oversee the management of all warehouse materials, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure all deliveries are received in full, checked for accuracy, and free from damage.
- Manage procurement requests for tools, parts, and consumables.
Picking & Packing:
- Pick and pack installation kits for engineers and sub-contractors, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and stage materials in advance for scheduled projects.
- Implement processes to minimise picking errors and returns.
Warehouse Operations:
- Oversee all incoming deliveries and ensure timely and correct processing.
- Load and unload deliveries, including operating a forklift (licence required or willingness to train).
- Ensure company vans are prepared with racking, tools, and consumables, including regular cleaning and restocking.
- Coordinate ad-hoc deliveries of materials to sites when required.
- Organise the warehouse to optimise space, efficiency, and workflow.
Team Leadership:
- Manage, train, and support the warehouse team to deliver operational excellence.
- Allocate daily tasks and monitor performance, ensuring high levels of productivity and accuracy.
- Foster a safe and collaborative team environment.
Health & Safety:
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant warehouse environment.
- Carry out risk assessments, ensuring all H&S regulations are followed.
- Ensure all lifting and handling equipment, including forklifts, is maintained and inspected.
General Duties:
- Support the Operations and Engineering teams with all warehouse-related requirements.
- Oversee the day-to-day warehouse operations at our Tamworth office.
- Manage and maintain warehouse operations across company sites, ensuring stock, equipment, and materials are organised and available when required.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably required to support the business
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a senior warehouse role.
- Strong understanding of stock control, picking accuracy, and warehouse systems.
- Experience with vehicle preparation, racking, and tool management is desirable.
- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Good IT skills (Excel and stock management systems).
- Full UK driving licence for occasional material deliveries.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
