Registered Children's Nurse – Paediatric Cardiology Weekend Clinics

About the opportunity
ProMedical is currently planning an anticipated Paediatric Cardiology weekend insourcing programme at Royal Preston Hospital and is seeking experienced Registered Children's Nurses (RCNs) who are interested in regular weekend work supporting additional outpatient capacity.
The service will work alongside the Trust's established Paediatric Cardiology pathway, supporting children attending clinics for a range of presentations, including:
- Heart murmurs
- Chest pain
- Palpitations
- Syncope and dizziness
- POTS assessments
- Family history and genetic syndrome screening
- General paediatric cardiology presentations
About you
We are particularly interested in nurses with strong paediatric outpatient experience and relevant clinical competencies, including:
- Paediatric phlebotomy
- Paediatric ECG recording
- Supporting consultant-led paediatric cardiology clinics
- Clinical observations and appropriate escalation
- Supporting children undergoing cardiac investigations
- Recognition and management of the deteriorating child
Experience in paediatric cardiology, cardiac services or specialist outpatient clinics would be highly advantageous.
The Trust has an established cardiorespiratory service supporting investigations such as ECGs, Holter monitoring, exercise testing and other cardiac investigations. Final nursing requirements will be confirmed once the outpatient clinic model is agreed.
Working pattern
The anticipated programme will involve regular weekend outpatient clinics at Royal Preston Hospital, initially running for approximately six months from October 2026 to March 2027.
At this stage, the service model is still being finalised, so we are inviting early expressions of interest from suitable nurses.
Pay: £250.00-£300.00 per day
